The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation. I am the LORD; in its time I will do this swiftly. - Isaiah 60:22
O Sovereign Lord, the God who destroys the wisdom of the wise and thwarts the intelligence of the intelligent,
Nations rise and fall at your command
There is nothing too great for you to accomplish
Man sees outward appearances, but you Lord see the heart
It did not please you to reveal yourself through the wisdom of this world
It pleased you to reveal yourself as one of us
You entered this world as a baby, not in a palace but in a manger
You stooped down to our level to lift us up to yours
During your sojourn on earth, you endured the scorn and mockery of men
You made yourself a slave so that we could be made kings
Because of this, we serve you with our lives.
You do not call those who are qualified, you qualify those whom you call
Your power is made perfect in our weakness,
so we will boast in our weakness,
that you may receive glory
We humble ourselves before you Lord,
and when the time is right,
you will exalt us
O Eternal One, who exists outside of time and space,
you alone see the end from the beginning
We may see brokenness all around us
but we wait patiently in perfect peace
knowing that a day is coming
when all will be made right.
Many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first
Matt 19:30
