Perfect Power in Weakness (2 Cor 12:9)

But Jesus said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me - 2 Cor 12:9

The strength of God begins where the strength of man ends. When we come to the last ounce of our own power, this is where Jesus takes over.

Without emptying ourselves of us, we will never experience the manifestation of God in us. We must become less so that He can become more.

A backup generator never clicks on until the initial power source runs out.

The human body does not tap into its fat reserves until it has exhausted the energy from recent meals.

Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven

The glory of God is hidden from the proud but is revealed to the humble.

As long as we find comfort in our wealth, our plans, our intelligence, we cannot know what it means to rely on God.

Only those who rid themselves of every earthly comfort can truly know what it means to find refuge in God.

Only those who come to the end of their own strength can truly know what it means to find power in Christ.

No one truly appreciates their reliance upon oxygen until they find their lungs empty.

No one truly understands their need for the Holy Spirit until they find their souls barren.

Fill yourself and you will always be empty.

Empty yourself and you will never cease to overflow.

Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said,

‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.'

- John 7:38

This is a good way to understand poor in spirit. He must increase. I must decrease. loved the image of the waterfall.
