Support from Above (2 Chron 16:9)

For the eyes of the LORD roam throughout the earth, so that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His - 2 Chronicles 16:9

When raising a child, a parent understands that when they reward a certain type of behavior, the child will be conditioned to repeat that behavior.

We must remember that we are all little children in God's sight.

God is attempting to "raise" us up into mature "adults" - the culmination of which is found in Christ. When we have reached full maturity, we will be just like Jesus.

There is no specific action we can take to merit God's grace.

This is not because God doesn't want to give us grace, but because He does not want us to get the wrong impression. He does not want us to become conditioned to attempting to earn His grace by taking specific "right actions."

If this was the case we would all be nervous wrecks, over-analyzing our every move, trying to make sure we never made any mistakes.

Instead, as Scripture tells us, God "strongly supports those whose hearts are completely His."

In other words, we don't need to take any specific actions to receive God's blessings, we simply need to be fully surrendered to Him.

How do we do this?

The answer is simple: By following Jesus.

Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Nobody gets to the Father except through Him.

Jesus not only paved the Way, He communicated the Way to us.

He not only walked the Way, He is the Way.

Jesus demonstrated what full surrender to God's will looks like.

He unveiled the secret to receiving God's divine favor.

He invites us into this secret with two simple words,

Follow Me.

While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them,

and behold, a voice from the cloud said,

“This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to Him!”
