The Love of Christ (Rom 8:35)

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? - Romans 8:35

Heavenly Father we praise you for your unfailing love.

Your love is unconditional - it does not depend upon our own righteousness.

We can do nothing to earn it and nothing outside of ourselves can keep us from it.

The only thing keeping us from experiencing Your love is ourselves.

O God, I am my own worst enemy!

Open my eyes.

Enable me to perceive Your glory which permeates all of creation.

Help me to see beyond my circumstances - and at all times to fix my eyes on the Cross.

Your love is unfathomable.

Who has understood it?

It leaves us in awe.

The act of love demonstrated on the Cross is the very core of Your being.

You are not just loving,

You are Love itself.

Love has a name, and it is Jesus.

Your inspired Apostle wrote to us,

"Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you would follow in His steps"

Holy Spirit, lead us down this paradoxical path of Love.

By this we know love,

that he laid down his life for us,

and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.

1 John 3:16
